Life Lately

I feel like I need to have some sort of introduction for this post, but I don’t…. Here is what I’ve been up to lately:

— I’m still running. Not far or fast, but logging some consistent miles for my upcoming race plans. Nothing is set in stone, but I’m thinking a half in the early fall and maybe a full marathon in the spring of 2016. More on this later.

— Recently, my Wear Blue friends linked up with the local Team RWB chapter and we manned a water stop for the El Paso Marathon. I’ve never volunteered at a race before, and it was awesome.

— I got engaged! I went immediately into wedding brain and forgot about all the other things (like this little blog of mine). I’ve since calmed down and can now talk about other subjects. Rest assured, there will be no “Wedding Wednesday” posts around here.

— Since all the important people are now aware, I can make our PCS plans public. Sadly, our time in El Paso is coming to an end. Sometime this spring we are headed to Fort Knox. I’m really looking forward to living somewhere grass can grow and I’ve been researching races in that part of the country (how many states do you think I can cross off while we are out there?), but I will miss my job, my Wear Blue running group, and the friends I have made here. Plus, I still technically live in Texas. I love Texas.

— I was supposed to go home last weekend. My best friend (who lives in GA) is having a baby and it was supposed to be her baby shower weekend. I sewed like crazy to finish her baby quilt (which, by the way, I cannot wait to show y’all. It turned out awesome). Then some crazy snow storm ruined our plans. The weekend got rescheduled, but I was looking forward to going home.

Well that’s the big stuff going on around here. Hopefully I wont disappear for another month…

It’s blog official! Huzzah! No mention of Bataan, eh? Stephen is still considering doing it since he already signed up. I guess it will just depend on how his school is going.

Yay for PCS plans, my husband was at Knox for a bit and he really enjoyed it there. 🙂 I’m still working on my race schedule for this year, however there are not many races here. Boo.
